Formerly known as Threestep, the town of Baghdad GA is an unincorporated entity located almost dead smack in the middle of Georgia. From Baghdad, the road goes mostly east about ten miles to Claytonville, which is the Piedmont County seat, drops five miles south to Brennan, curves clockwise south and west to Toomsboro, continues west toward McIntyre, turns north for twenty miles on up to Milledgeville, in Baldwin County, and comes back down to Baghdad. (Hardwick is in there, too, up near Milledgeville, and also Stevens' Pottery, which is nothing but a name on a map these days.)
